Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic

Acheson, Alberta
Bushell Transport is looking for an experienced Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Acheson. We are looking for a skilled, dependable mechanic who takes pride in quality workmanship, strong diagnostics, and keeping a heavy-haul fleet safe, compliant, reliable, and moving.

  • The Role
    • Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and equipment. 
    • Perform preventative maintenance and CVIP inspections. 
    • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, diesel, hydraulic, and air systems. 
    • Complete repairs safely and efficiently. 
    • Maintain accurate work orders and service records. 
    • Support apprentices and contribute to a strong, team-oriented shop environment.
  • What We’re Looking For
    • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic certification. 
    • 2+ years of heavy-duty truck, trailer, or equipment experience. 
    • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills. 
    • Valid driver’s license (Class 1 driver’s license is an asset). 
    • CVIP Licensed. 
    • Strong Cummins and Peterbilt experience is an asset. 
    • Safety and compliance focus. 
    • Efficient and self-motivated work style.

Canada & U.S. | Specialized Heavy Haul

  • The Role
    • Haul oversize & overweight loads using multi-axle and specialized equipment
    • Operate throughout Canada and the U.S.
    • Execute work with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and proper planning
    • Work closely with dispatch, permits, and our in-house shop
  • What We Offer
    • $90,000–$150,000+ annually (based on experience and capability)

We’re looking for a dependable Shop Hand to join our team.

This isn’t a stand-around-and-wait kind of job. We’re looking for someone who sees what needs to be done and gets after it.

  • The Role
    • Washing trucks, trailers, and equipment
    • Keeping the shop, yard, and wash bay clean and organized
    • Helping Heavy Duty Technicians
    • Shipping and receiving parts
    • Organizing the parts room and assisting with inventory
    • Moving trucks and trailers around the shop and yard
    • Basic trailer inspections and minor maintenance support
    • Operating forklifts, skid steers, scissor lifts, tire machines, and wheel balancers
  • What We’re Looking For
    • 1+ year of shop, yard, or labour experience
    • A valid driver’s licence
    • A strong work ethic
    • Good communication and teamwork skills
    • An eye for keeping things organized
    • The ability to work independently and follow direction
    • Most importantly, a safety-first mindset
    • Class 1 or 3 and forklift/skid steer certification are assets.
